After Lindvall’s lead in CQ (directed by Roman Coppola, 2002), a world of oppertuntiy opened for an acting, but as a new mother, she choose not to persue it as a career. Though she did appear in cult movie Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (Shane Black, 2005). In 2007, she co-hosted Alter Eco, one of Discovery Channel’s first Planet Green shows, with Adrian Grenier. She appeared in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere in 2010, and in Roman Coppola’s film Charles Swan in 2012. Lindvall also hosted Lifetime’s Project Runway All Stars in 2012.
Angela Lindvall, the second of five children, grew up in a small, rural community outside of Kansas City, Missouri. A full-blown tomboy, she seemed to fall into modeling by accident. It was her older sister who initially convinced Angela to sign up for a local fashion show with her for fun. To her great surprise, the talent scout at the show wanted to sign her up there and then, but Angela was hesitant and initially declined. However, the scout was persistent and later Angela agreed to go out just to see the "The Big Apple". Unaware this "visit" was to be the beginning of an immensely successful modeling career that would eventually take into the elite realms of the "Super Model".
Angela has since appeared on the cover of many major publications, including all the international Vogues, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, ID, Dazed and Confused and many more. Angela's "chameleon" like qualities has made her one of the most sought after models and one of the few to work with nearly every major fashion house, including the likes of Prada, Chanel, Valentino, Gucci, Louie Vitton, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Jill Sander, Chloe, Stella McCartney and Versace, to name a few. She continues to be one of the most sought-after models in an otherwise fickle industry . This, along with her many accomplishments, she has proved to truly stand the test of time. In 2002, Angela made the natural transition from the runway to the silver screen, starring in Roman Coppola's now-cult classic, CQ (2001), with the likes of Gérard Depardieu, Jason Schwartzman, Billy Zane and Jeremy Davies. She, however, soon after had her first son, Dakota, which put a pause on her acting career while she focused her attentions on being a mother.
While re-establishing her career after maternity leave, she completely sustainably restored a 95-foot tugboat that she brought from the Caribbean and docked in the Hudson River, outside Manhattan, where she lived with her family. The boat was featured in multiple publications including the magazine, "Oranic Style". In 2005, after making the move to Los Angeles, she appeared in the hit film, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), alongside Robert Downey Jr.. She, soon after, had her second son, Sebastian, and again put a pause on her anticipated film career. During this time, she became a strong advocate for raising children "naturally" and with an emphasis on family values. After this second maternity leave, the fashion world welcomed her back with open arms, once again making her one of the most photographed models in the world. Throughout her career, Angela has been an active environmentalist and health advocate.
In 2001, she founded "The Collage Foundation Inc 501c3", a non-profit that stimulates environmental awareness, and provides resources for positive change. "Collage" supports various not-for-profit projects, including "The Rockland Farm Alliance", a global model created for local, sustainably grown food. In 2007, alongside Adrian Grenier, Angela co-hosted "Alter Ecco", which was one of Discovery's Planet Green Channel's first shows. That same year, she also hosted one of the first major "Green" fashion shows during New York City's Fashion Week at the Natural History Musuem called "Be Eco Chic". In 2009, she became one of the founding board members of the NRDC's "Clean By Design", a major initiative to sustainably revolutionize the textile industry in China, the second most polluting industry in the region.
She now lives in Los Angeles with her partner and two boys on a small farm that she is currently developing for sustainable agriculture. In 2010, Angela continues her presence in fashion, doing the new Prada campaign, as well as being the spokesperson for three different luxury brands making sustainable business choices; John Hardy, DKNYPure, and Biotherms Skinergetic...she is also pursuing new opportunities opening in the film and television world with a few projects in development and an appearance in Sofia Coppola's upcoming film, Somewhere (2010). She is represented by Women Management in New York, IMG in Europe, and Rogue Entertainment Group in Los Angeles.
