If there was any doubt as to whether or not moms could still turn the heat up, it was laid to rest with last night’s premiere of Fergie’s “M.I.L.F. $,” a pop ode to the sexiness of mothers everywhere. It has been a nearly a decade since the Black Eyed Peas lead singer graced the world with a new solo album, so when it came time to debut her latest video, it was go big or go home.
Dropping a celebrity cameo–filled clip that featured nearly every hot momma in both Hollywood and the fashion world, Fergie managed to take the lewd label (“MILF” being an unprintable acronym) and turn it into her personal anthem.
While we’re used to seeing women like Kim Kardashian West and Ciara serving up sensuality in music videos, “M.I.L.F. $” also gave several members of modeling’s mom squad the chance to play video girl—if only for a moment. Fashion favorites like Gemma Ward, Chrissy Teigen, Alessandra Ambrosio, Angela Lindvall, Isabeli Fontana, Amber Valletta, Tara Lynn, Devon Aoki, and Natasha Poly all got in on the action, breaking out their best dance moves as male models Jordan Barrett and Jon Kortajarena eagerly looked on.
What the over-the-top clip lacks in subtlety—there isn’t a frame that doesn’t have a dairy pun—it more than makes up for in GIF-worthy model moments. The surprise of seeing editorial stars in the gleefully kitschy setting proves everyone—even Gemma Ward—has an inner bad mama jama.
