Angela Gets Grounded in NYC
My job involves a lot of travel, so I have had to figure out a way to stay grounded when I’m away from home. The best way for me to do that is kundalini yoga. Kundalini merges yoga with mediation, including subtle bodies and breath, as well as poses and chanting. It’s known to be one of the fastest ways to reach a state of enlightenment by bringing the energy called the serpent fire from the base of the spine into ourpineal gland. I highly recommend it! You will definitely experience a “high.” If you live in New York or Los Angeles, there is a great place to start called Golden Bridge. Or just check it out online!
Also loving Frankie’s Spuntino for the most amazing Italian food. Lots of locally sourced ingredients and they feed the homeless through City Harvest—an amazing program. The owners are two old friends from Queens—Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli—who reunited after 18 years to open their first restaurant together in 2003. Now they have three locations, and make their own line of organic olive oil from olives they grow in Sicily. Order it online—it makes everything taste incredible.
Finally, I’m so happy to have the opportunity to visit the Brooklyn studio of one of my favorite artists, Dustin Yellin. His three-dimensional collages are layered under glass. Here’s one of his recent pieces. Look closely—the details are amazing.
Love & Light,
Angela
